OPEN VILLAGES
PUBLICATION
The Open Villages book emerged from an educational program we initiated, where we contributed as designers, compilers, and authors. It systematizes materials from our study of Ukrainian villages, begun after Russia's full-scale invasion.

A key design element was the duotone processing of images, printed in three Pantone colors—black, green, and blue—instead of the usual CMYK. This approach unified the multi-colored photos into a cohesive style while enhancing depth and saturation. Paired with porous, slightly yellowish paper, the result is a minimalist yet holistic book, with colors evoking nostalgia and mystery. Together with: Goethe Institute Ukraine
