Type: public building

We had a task to develop an ensemble of buildings for the museum complex "Kholodny Yar". For many years, the owner of the site has been collecting monuments of material and spiritual culture of the region, and historical documents about the events which took place in this region. The complex has become a place for everyone interested in their historical heritage to get deep into the heroic past of their ancestors. Complex besides historical artifacts display also provides space for public events (concerts, fairs, festivals). It is a crashpad and restaurant for etno-parties and other events.
The geometry of the outlay was based on the existing dominant - the church. It is a symbol of the fundamental spiritual values of the region. Object location depends on the specific roadmap. It guides visitors through the entire complex (parking - Museum - Temple - Walk of Heroes - amphitheater - lake - restaurant).
The image of the building is complemented by a modern interpretation of traditional Ukrainian ornament - "embroidery". It is presented as a suspended facade of glass panels in traditional colors and window openings.
The project consists of traditional building materials for this area such as clay, wood, cane.
