Gifting environments - the workshop that was held in Nida, Lithuania during EASA event. With the tutors Audingas Sumskas and Anton Shramkov our team was aimed, in a participative way, make an improvement of comfort and environment of the local school (Neringos Gimnazija). Discussions with the teaching staff members have proved that some of the decisions taken in the renovation process have been made without including its current users (the students) and their specific needs or demands. This lack of communication between the daily users of the school, its leadership and the main investor (Nida’s municipality) is a typical example of an exclusive decision making process. Concepts are feeding four main workshop moments: • looking for spirit of this place • data gathering, or contradictions, similarities and creative concerns • synthesizing / testing scenarios and materials • constructing interventions and making situations The result of the workshop - several interventions in the schools' backyard which improve the quality of space and bring additional functions according to the students' desires. the first one was movable installation-the tribune and place for rest in the area of sport games. the second - amphitheater / terrace /hide away place which is also reinforcing the slope.
